Johan is no longer eligible for treatment and will have to spend the rest of his life in the psychiatric ward of the state penitentiary. And yet Johan persists he is innocent of the sex murder of his sister.  Because nobody believes him, Johan escapes in order to prove his innocence. He goes in search of his mother who has always refused to testify and has cut off all communication. Johan is convinced that she can clear his name. Soon the police are on his heels. To keep a step ahead of the law, Johan takes a random passer-by as hostage: the 13-year-old Tessa.
